Kolkata Police on Saturday arrested the security guard of Kolkata's Law College in connection with the alleged gang-rape of a first-year law student. The incident reportedly took place on June 25 inside the college premises, specifically in the guard’s room. This is the fourth arrest in the case, following the earlier arrests of three accused — a former student and two current students.
According to the complaint, the prime accused, Monojit Mishra (31), is a former student of the college and currently a practising lawyer. He allegedly raped the 21-year-old student while two current students — Zaib Ahmed (19) and Pramit Mukhopadhyay (20) — stood outside the room. The FIR states that the security guard was instructed to sit outside while the college gate was locked during the incident. All four accused have now been arrested.
