Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim has on Friday announced that a completion certificate is no longer mandatory for the mutation of flats in the city. With this, the KMC Mayor changed last year's order of the corporation which made it mandatory for promoters to obtain a completion certificate (CC) for new real estate developments before allowing the mutation of flats.
In June 2023, the KMC amended its rules to stop unscrupulous realtors from leaving home-buyers stranded in developments without the CC that is required to apply for water and drainage connections.
