Congress observer predicts TMC victory, announces support; confident of winning 8 seats in Bengal

Congress observer Ghulam Ahmed Mir has sparked significant political speculation by suggesting that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is poised for a strong performance in the West Bengal assembly elections. Despite the Congress party's own organizational weaknesses—such as failing to provide booth agents in many areas—Mir expressed optimism that the party's vote share will increase. An internal party report suggests that Congress has a strong possibility of winning 8 seats and could play a "decisive role" if the TMC fails to secure a majority on its own.

Mir believes that the "silent voting" trend in Bengal will ultimately favor the ruling party, largely driven by the state government's financial assistance programs for women. He estimated that at least 60% of the state's female voters, who make up half of the total electorate, have backed the TMC. Mir even suggested that women from households supporting the BJP likely cast their votes for Mamata Banerjee’s party due to the direct financial benefits provided to families.

Regarding the various exit polls, Mir claimed they would have the "opposite effect" once the actual results are declared on June 4th. He argued that while the Left has diminished and the BJP lacks a solid ground organization, the TMC maintains strong organizational roots across the state. The Congress, meanwhile, is focusing its victory hopes on regions like Malda, Murshidabad, North Dinajpur, and the Serampore seat.
