Contractor gunned down in Chinakudi, Asansol, investigation underway

A startling incident of gunfire sent shockwaves through Chinakudi number 3 area in Asansol, where a 55-year-old contractor, Shambhunath Mishra, was fatally shot at around 7 AM. As news of the incident spread, authorities from the Banka police swiftly arrived at the scene to conduct investigations. The deceased was targeted while having breakfast at a local shop in Chinakudi number 3. According to eyewitnesses, two assailants on a motorcycle approached Shambhunath and opened fire, discharging approximately six rounds.

In the aftermath of the shooting, a substantial police presence from Kulti police station reached the location. Shambhunath Mishra was quickly transported to Asansol District Hospital, where medical professionals tragically declared him deceased.

This incident has stirred alarm in the vicinity, with investigators recovering bullet casings from the scene. Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Modi conveyed that a person was attacked outside a residence near Chinnakudi DPS junction by unknown assailants, and an investigation is underway.
