Around 300 girl cadets from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) attended a one-hour training session on cyber security and various forms of cyber crimes on Monday.
The session was conducted by the cyber cell of South division along with senior Army officials. The event featured a talk by Sergeant Suvankar Chakraborty, who leads all major investigations in the police division.
The training session covered topics such as cyber bullying, trolling, identity theft prevention through social media, juice jacking, SIM swapping, booby trapping through social media, and sextortion. According to a senior south division officer, the girls who attended the session cited instances of their family members, friends, and neighbors falling prey to cyber crimes.
The training session was an effort to raise awareness among young women about cyber safety and the importance of being vigilant online. Such events are crucial in today's digital age where cyber threats are increasingly prevalent and can have serious consequences.
