Cops arrest illegal Bangladeshi from Bhawanipur, was staying in Kolkata for 34 years

A Bangladeshi infiltrator has been apprehended in Kolkata, accused of living in India for over three decades by concealing his true identity. The individual reportedly obtained fraudulent Indian voter cards and ration cards during his prolonged illegal stay. Following a complaint filed at the Bhowanipore police station, the Security Control Organization detained the alleged infiltrator, who is now undergoing extensive interrogation.

Police sources have identified the individual as Nupur Chakraborty. He is reported to have been residing in Maharaja Tagore Road, Dhakuria, for a significant period, meticulously hiding his real identity. Chakraborty allegedly entered India illegally from Bangladesh in 1991, without the necessary passport or visa. This means he has been living in India without proper documentation for approximately 34 years.

The detection and subsequent arrest of Nupur Chakraborty came after the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) lodged a complaint at the Bhowanipore police station in South Kolkata. Based on this complaint, an investigation was launched, leading to his apprehension. The Security Control Organization has taken charge of the ongoing inquiry, aiming to uncover the full extent of his activities and network.

Authorities are now probing several critical questions regarding Chakraborty's illegal entry and prolonged stay. Investigations are underway to determine the specific area from which he crossed into India and who assisted him in entering Indian territory. A key focus is also on how he managed to maintain his concealed identity for so many years without detection.

Furthermore, police are examining whether he maintained any contact with individuals in Bangladesh during his long stay in India. This aspect is crucial for understanding any potential links or continued ties to his country of origin. The Security Control Organization is also trying to ascertain from where and with whose help he obtained the fake identification documents that allowed him to live as an Indian citizen.
