"Kolkata to get Water Metro connectivity," says Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari
The rape and murder of Dr. Abhaya at R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital a year ago had triggered widespread outrage, leading to large-scale protests across West Bengal. The "West Bengal Junior Doctors’ Front" had played a key role in organizing these demonstrations, demanding justice for the victim and accountability from authorities.
Now, "Nyaybichar Manch" has raised corruption allegations against the Junior Doctors’ Front. Its president, Dr. Chandrachur Goswami, who is also associated with the "Dhananjay Chattopadhyay Case Review Forum," alleged that the protest movement was misused for financial gains. He said, “We had requested the Junior Doctors’ Front during the protests to ensure financial transparency, but they ignored it. From the very beginning, their intention was to collect money in the name of the movement.”
The accusations focus on alleged misuse of funds collected through crowdfunding during the protest period. According to Dr. Goswami, despite appeals for financial clarity, the Junior Doctors’ Front did not disclose details of the money collected. The Junior Doctors’ Front has not yet given an official response to the allegations.
