Councilor's brother accused of forcibly grabbing the land; no action taken on the complaint

There are allegations that Nazir Hussain Mandal, the elder brother of Trinamool-backed independent councilor Mamta Mandal of Ward No. 12, is forcibly occupying land and preventing the construction of a house on the property.

Reena Pal, a resident of the Dasdrona Purvapara area, has lodged written complaints with the Baguiati police station, Bidhannagar commissionerate, and even the Chief Minister's office, but has been unable to build a house on the land.

According to Reena Pal, she owned land in the Dasdrona Purvapara area in 1998, which was later acquired by HIDCO for redevelopment purposes. She was given a replacement plot of 1 kattha nearby, but has encountered obstacles in building a house on the land.

When construction workers attempted to begin work, they were allegedly beaten by Nazir Hussain and his associates, and Reena Pal and her family were threatened with violence. Despite filing complaints with the Baguiati police station, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, and appealing to the Chief Minister, Nazir Hussain continues to obstruct the construction of the house, leaving Reena Pal and her family feeling helpless in the situation.
