India’s active Covid-19 cases have crossed the 6,000 mark, with 6,133 patients currently undergoing treatment. In the past 24 hours, 378 new infections were reported across the country, along with six deaths.
Among the deceased, three were from Kerala, two from Karnataka, and one from Tamil Nadu—all individuals with multiple comorbidities.
Kerala remains the worst-hit state, reporting 144 new infections, followed by Gujarat with 105 and West Bengal with 71. Since January 1, 2025, the total number of Covid-related deaths in the country has reached 65. On a positive note, 753 people recovered in the last 24 hours, indicating ongoing recovery efforts amid the steady rise in infections.
