Veteran Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Sitaram Yechury has passed away at the age of 72, according to party and hospital sources. The CPI(M) stalwart, who had been a central figure in Indian leftist politics for decades, succumbed after a prolonged illness. His death marks the end of an era for the party and left a profound void in India's political landscape.
