A frightening surprise awaited residents of a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj district when a crocodile entered a home late at night. The reptile prowled inside the house, disturbing a sleeping man who quickly raised an alarm. This alert brought villagers rushing to the scene.
A young villager led the effort to safely capture the crocodile using a rope. The intense rescue operation was captured on video, showing the crocodile struggling fiercely as it was pulled out from what appeared to be a basement. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
The crocodile was later handed over to the forest department for safe relocation. Officials believe the reptile came from Darjaniya Tal, a nearby lake that hosts over 400 crocodiles and is a known wildlife attraction.
This was not an isolated case. Last year, a large crocodile was seen roaming the streets of Nangal Soti village in Bijnor district, sparking similar concerns and requiring forest department intervention.
