Cruel mom throws 3-year-old girl in lake over taunts from lover

A horrific incident has come to light in Ajmer, Rajasthan, where a 28-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering her 3-year-old daughter. Police have stated that the woman, identified as Anjali, also known as Priya Singh, first put her daughter to sleep on a public bench before throwing her into the Ana Sagar Lake late on Tuesday night. The crime, which has shocked the community, was reportedly triggered by repeated taunts from her live-in partner about having a child from a previous marriage.

The accused, originally from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, works as a receptionist at a hotel in Ajmer. Her live-in partner, Alkesh Gupta, is also employed at the same hotel. Following her separation from her husband, Anjali had been residing with Alkesh in the Datanagar area of Ajmer. This alleged motive sheds light on the tragic circumstances that led to the death of an innocent child.

The case came to the attention of the authorities during a routine patrol. Head Constable Govind Sharma of the Christian Ganj Police Station encountered Anjali and Alkesh walking near the lake. When questioned about their late-night presence, Anjali claimed that her daughter had suddenly gone missing while they were out for a walk. She and her partner claimed to have searched for the girl throughout the night, but to no avail.

However, the police's suspicions were raised when they reviewed CCTV footage from the area. The cameras showed Anjali walking with her daughter around Ana Sagar Lake in the early hours of the morning. At around 1:30 am, the footage showed a crucial detail: Anjali was seen alone, talking on her mobile phone, which directly contradicted her earlier statement that the child had disappeared.

Faced with the undeniable evidence from the CCTV footage, police intensified their interrogation. Anjali eventually confessed to her crime, admitting that she had pushed her daughter into the lake through a gap in the railing. Following her confession, the child's body was recovered from the lake, confirming the devastating truth.

Further investigation by the Christian Ganj Police revealed that Anjali had acted alone in the murder. According to her statement, she was pushed to this extreme step because her live-in partner, Alkesh, constantly taunted her about having a child from her first marriage. While Anjali's confession points to her as the sole perpetrator, authorities are currently investigating whether Alkesh had any knowledge of or involvement in the incident.
