The weather department has issued alerts for fishermen to return to shore and has advised tourists to avoid the beaches. The cyclone is expected to move towards coastal areas from Wednesday, bringing more rain and potentially causing further disruption.
While temperatures are set to rise in some parts of West Bengal, areas including Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, and East and West Medinipur are expected to remain sunny until Wednesday.
However, there is a risk of rain and lightning later in the week, with the administration on alert.
