Dalit family targeted: love affair takes a violent turn in Jehanabad

In a distressing turn of events in Anjani village, located in the Nagar police station area of Jehanabad district, a love affair has led to a brutal assault on a Dalit boy's family. The incident unfolded when a girl from Bhushan Chak in Patna district fell in love with a Dalit youth from Anjani village, prompting the couple to elope.

Subsequently, the girl's family relentlessly pressured the boy's side to return the girl. Failing to resolve the matter amicably, a group of armed individuals from the girl's family descended upon the boy's village, resulting in a violent confrontation.

As a consequence, numerous men and women from the boy's side sustained injuries, with around a dozen individuals currently receiving medical treatment at Jehanabad Sadar Hospital. The local police have been notified, and investigations into the incident are underway.
