Six men abducted and gang-raped a dancer who had been hired to perform at a property businessman's birthday party in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao area. According to the FIR filed by the survivor, three dancers from her troupe were hired to perform at a party in Deepak Nagar for Rs 6,000.
Six men kidnapped her in a car as she was leaving the event and then raped her in a nearby jungle. The gang-rape victim said in her complaint that the men were drunk when they committed the crime.
Accused escape
After committing the crime, all the accused fled and a search operation was launched to find them. The survivor claims that she initially complained to the Jajmau police, but they did nothing. She later went to the Police Kotwali at Unnao Sadar and as a result the accused were charged with rape under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code.
Siddharth Meena, Superintendent of Police (Unnao), said a search operation has been launched to find the accused, while the survivor underwent a medical examination to confirm the rape allegations.
