Dead bodies of mother, father & 35-year-old son found in Kolkata's Garia area

In a distressing incident within the Garia police station area, dead bodies of a mother, father, and their thirty-five-year-old son have been recovered from a sealed apartment. The authorities found the door locked from the inside, leading to an initial assumption of a family suicide.

The reason behind this tragic decision remains unclear. A neighbor, who visited on Saturday, expressed shock, stating the flat had been closed since her arrival, emitting a foul smell of decay. Identified as Aparna Maitra, her husband Swapan Maitra, and their son Sumanraj Maitra, the family had seemingly secluded themselves for the last three days, according to local sources. Swapan, an engineer by profession, left behind a video expressing financial struggles and the family's dependency on a younger uncle.

Sumanraj had recorded the video before their deaths, mentioning a lack of proper income and choosing this drastic step. The younger uncle, now left devastated, faced the media in tears. The local community is drawing parallels with the Burari incident, adding a layer of concern to the unfolding investigation.
