A decomposed body of a man was found hanging in a house in the Lake Town area of Kolkata. The discovery, which sent a strong odour wafting from the residence on Wednesday morning, was accompanied by a suicide note simply stating, “No one is responsible for my death.”
The deceased has been identified as Subhashish Chakraborty, aged 42. The shocking find was made in a house on Dhakuria Station Lane when local residents, alerted by a strong, foul smell emanating from the building, immediately contacted the Lake Police Station.
Preliminary police investigations suggest that Subhashish Chakraborty may have taken his own life as early as last Saturday. Police found out that Subhashish had been involved in a continuous 14-year relationship with a woman, who frequently visited the house, often staying overnight in a 'live-in' arrangement.
Crucially, locals informed the police that despite the long-term relationship, there were no known plans for marriage. However, police sources have now learned that this long-standing relationship recently came to an end—a break-up that is now the primary focus of the investigation.
