Deepika Padukone makes history as first Indian actor to receive star on Hollywood Walk of Fame 2026

Actor Deepika Padukone has been named among the 35 honourees for the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2026, becoming the first Indian actress to receive the recognition. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the list during a livestream event, placing her in the Motion Pictures category. Fellow honourees in this category include Emily Blunt, Rami Malek, Rachel McAdams, Timothée Chalamet, and Stanley Tucci.

The final list was selected from hundreds of nominations submitted to the Chamber. The selection panel met on June 20, and the final names were approved by the board of directors. Peter Roth, chairman of the selection committee, said, “These talented individuals have made significant contributions to the world of entertainment, and we are thrilled to honour them with this well-deserved recognition.”

The honourees were named across five categories: motion pictures, television, live theatre/live performance, recording, and sports entertainment. The 2026 list includes personalities such as Molly Ringwald, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Noah Wyle, Demi Moore, former NBA player Shaquille O’Neal, and Good Morning America anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos. Special effects artist Carlo Rambaldi and director Tony Scott will be posthumously honoured.

Deepika made her Hollywood debut in 2017 with XXX: Return of Xander Cage opposite Vin Diesel. She also unveiled the FIFA World Cup trophy at the 2022 final in Qatar. In 2018, she was included in TIME’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world and later received the TIME100 Impact Award for her international influence and advocacy.

In India, she was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD and will next appear in director Atlee’s upcoming project AA22xA6, alongside Allu Arjun. Deepika and her husband Ranveer Singh welcomed their daughter Dua Padukone Singh in September 2024. The couple described her name as “Dua: meaning a prayer. Because she is the answer to our prayers.”
