Delhi Airport’s Terminal 2 to shut from April 15 for maintenance; All flights moved to T1

Starting April 15, operations at Terminal 2 (T2) of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport will be temporarily suspended as the terminal undergoes scheduled maintenance. Major carriers like IndiGo and Akasa Air have announced the relocation of all their Delhi T2 flights to Terminal 1 until further notice.

IndiGo, the country’s largest airline by market share, issued a public notice informing passengers that it will now operate exclusively from Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 in Delhi. The carrier emphasized that the switch has been implemented due to essential maintenance work at T2 and is expected to enhance future passenger experience.

In its advisory, IndiGo noted that it has already begun notifying affected travelers through registered email addresses and WhatsApp numbers. Additionally, a complete list of reassigned flights has been made available on the airline’s official website to ensure passengers are well informed before arriving at the airport.

Joining the shift, Akasa Air has also confirmed that all its Delhi-bound and departing flights will now operate from Terminal 1D. The airline has asked passengers to double-check their terminal details ahead of their travel date to avoid confusion.

Meanwhile, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has announced that the upgraded Terminal 1 is set to become fully operational from April 15. Passengers can expect improved facilities, better connectivity, and a more seamless airport experience under one roof.

The temporary closure of T2 is part of an infrastructure upgrade initiative to accommodate the growing air traffic in India’s capital. Authorities are urging all passengers flying in or out of Delhi to stay updated on flight and terminal details through their airlines and the official airport portal.
