Flames rip through illegal warehouse in Burrabazar | Watch Taaza TV's report
A massive manhunt is underway across Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh for a red Ford EcoSport believed to be owned by Red Fort blast suspect Dr Umar Un Nabi. The vehicle, registered with number DL10CK0458 at the Rajouri Garden RTO on November 22, 2017, is suspected to have been used as a secondary car in the operation.
Police said Umar, also known as Dr Umar Mohammad, used a fake address in northeast Delhi while registering the car. Raids were conducted at the listed location, but the vehicle’s current whereabouts remain unknown. Intelligence inputs suggest the EcoSport may still contain explosives or vital evidence. In response, all law enforcement units have been directed to intercept red Ford EcoSport cars matching the registration number.
The car hunt comes as part of the expanded probe into the Red Fort blast that killed at least 12 people on Monday evening. Officials said Umar drove the white Hyundai i20 that exploded near Lal Quila metro station. DNA samples collected from his family are being compared to remains recovered from the site to confirm his identity.
Investigators revealed that Umar was part of a 9–10 member Jaish-e-Mohammad-linked terror network that allegedly included several doctors. Two of his associates, Dr Muzammil and Dr Shaheen, were arrested earlier in Faridabad with nearly 2,900 kg of explosives. Police believe Umar panicked after their arrest and executed the attack alone. Raids, toll checks, and mobile tower analyses are continuing as the search for the EcoSport and remaining module members intensifies.
