A 27-year-old staffer from Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital has accused a delivery boy of raping her after he allegedly posed as an Army officer to gain her trust. The accused, identified as Aarav Malik, reportedly befriended the woman on Instagram and claimed to be a Lieutenant stationed in Kashmir. Over several months, he maintained contact through social media, sharing photos of himself in uniform to sustain the lie.
Police said Aarav later visited the woman’s residence, offered her food laced with intoxicants, and sexually assaulted her. Following the complaint, the accused was arrested and charged under sections of rape, cheating by personation, and criminal intimidation. Investigations revealed he worked for an e-commerce company and had purchased the uniform online.
In a separate case, an 18-year-old MBBS student from Haryana’s Jind alleged rape and blackmail by a 20-year-old man at a Delhi hotel. The accused allegedly administered intoxicants, confined her unlawfully, and later threatened to release obscene photos and videos. Police have initiated a probe into both incidents.
