Hundreds of protesting teachers, who were denied appointments despite qualifying, marched to the School Service Commission (SSC) office on Wednesday, accusing the Commission of ongoing irregularities and demanding justice. Many of the protesters have been camping near the SSC office for weeks, and this march marked an escalation in their demands.
The teachers are calling for four key actions: full publication of review results before any new recruitment begins, submission of all OMR sheets in the Supreme Court, lawful re-paneling of qualified candidates, and immediate reinstatement of eligible candidates who were wrongly excluded. Protesters allege that the SSC is deliberately withholding the final list of eligible candidates, creating unnecessary confusion and denying deserving individuals their rightful jobs.
A significant police force was deployed outside the SSC office to maintain order. Though the demonstration remained peaceful, traffic movement was temporarily affected. So far, no official comment has been issued by the SSC or the government. However, sources suggest that a high-level meeting may soon be convened to address the teachers’ demands and chart a path forward.
