By-polls announced on 6 Assembly & 1 Lok Sabha seat of Bengal on Nov 13
Designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the founder of the banned organization Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), has issued a video statement urging Sikhs not to travel on Air India aircraft after November 19, warning that their lives may be in danger. Pannun asserted that a global blockade against Air India is planned for that date, and the airline will not be allowed to operate.
In the circulated video, Pannun claimed that Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport would be closed on November 19 and that its name would be changed to "Shahid Beant Singh, Shahid Satwant Singh Khalistan airport" upon Punjab's liberation. He also pointed out that November 19 coincides with the final match of the ongoing Cricket World Cup, referring to it as the "World Terror Cup."
This isn't the first instance of Pannun issuing threats; in September, he urged Hindu-Canadians to leave Canada amid the diplomatic tensions between India and Canada regarding the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
