Despite clear directions from the High Court, Kamarhati Municipality has not yet initiated the demolition of Jayant Singh's residence in the Adiadah area. The delay has raised eyebrows, as the court had ordered urgent action on the matter.
Municipality Chairman Gopal Saha has said that the civic body currently lacks the resources and infrastructure required to carry out the demolition. He admitted the delay but insisted that the matter was not being ignored.
According to Saha, a tender process will soon be floated to bring in external agencies capable of handling the demolition professionally. The municipality claims it is committed to following the legal order, but logistical hurdles have caused the setback.
