The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday announced that IndiGo Airlines has completed all refunds for passengers affected by flight cancellations and operational disruptions between December 3 and 5, 2025. The refunds have been credited to the original payment method, ensuring compliance with civil aviation rules.
Under DGCA Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) Section 3, Series M, Part IV, passengers impacted by denied boarding, cancellations, or delays are entitled to compensation. In addition to refunds, IndiGo has offered a “Gesture of Care” to affected travelers, providing two travel vouchers worth INR 5,000 each, with a validity of 12 months, totaling INR 10,000 per passenger.
The DGCA noted that passengers whose flights were cancelled within 24 hours of departure may be eligible for additional compensation, which can be claimed through a dedicated link provided by the airline. Eligibility extends to those whose flights were delayed by more than three hours during the affected period.
Passengers can check the full list of eligible flights and submit their details for refunds or vouchers through the dedicated IndiGo website link. The DGCA advised travelers to ensure accurate contact information is provided at the time of booking to facilitate timely communication regarding their compensation.
The regulator emphasized that these steps aim to support affected passengers promptly while ensuring airlines adhere to operational and passenger service obligations. IndiGo has assured continued cooperation with DGCA in addressing passenger grievances arising from past disruptions.
