Dharmendra Pradhan submits resignation to PM Modi amid NEET paper leak protests

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid ongoing student protests over the alleged NEET paper leak. Pradhan announced his decision in a post on X, just hours before the third round of talks between the Centre and the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). His resignation had been one of the principal demands of the protesters, who have been camping at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi for more than a month.

The proposed talks between the Centre and the CJP had remained deadlocked over the demand for Pradhan's resignation. On Saturday morning, the CJP reiterated that discussions would not proceed unless the government removed the Education Minister. According to the information provided, the Centre had already assured the protesters that there would be no legal action against student demonstrators and that compensation would be provided to the families of students who died by suicide following the alleged NEET paper leak. With Pradhan's resignation, the protesters' listed demands have been addressed.

In his post on X, Pradhan said he respected the aspirations and expectations of the country's youth and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the opportunity to serve the nation. Following the announcement, celebrations broke out at the protest site at Jantar Mantar, while the CJP posted on X, "Long Live Student Power."
