A special havan ceremony was held at the Digha Jagannath Temple a day ahead of its grand inauguration. The yajna commenced at 9 AM on Tuesday and continued till evening, as Vedic chants echoed across the town, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere. The temple premises were filled with devotional songs and rituals, as devotees gathered in large numbers to witness the sacred event. The entire complex appeared immersed in the divine aura of Lord Jagannath's blessings.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee participated in the ceremony and performed the purnahuti (final offering), marking the ceremonial conclusion of the day-long havan. The special homa yajna began in the afternoon under the guidance of Rajesh Dayatapati, the chief priest of the Puri Jagannath Temple, who specially led the proceedings ahead of the temple's formal opening.
