A brewing crisis has surfaced within the Jharkhand Congress, posing a new challenge for the Champai Soren government, currently backed by the Congress. The fissure centers around disagreements among Congress MLAs regarding ministerial posts, with 12 legislators reportedly expressing discontent.
Notable figures within the dissenting group include Irfan Ansari, Amba Prasad, Viksal Kongdi, and Deepika Pandey Singh, who are advocating for the removal of existing ministers from their party and the inclusion of fresh faces in the upcoming cabinet expansion.
The dissenting Congress MLAs, numbering around 12, are vehemently opposing the continuation of Alamgir Alam and three other potential ministers, who were also part of the previous Hemant Soren government.
Reports suggest that this opposition camp, demanding the exclusion of old ministers, might even consider boycotting the upcoming swearing-in ceremony. The disgruntled MLAs argue that party members and citizens alike have faced challenges due to the performance and conduct of the current ministers, calling for a departure from the status quo.
