Actor Ayushmann Khurrana shared the poster on Instagram on Monday and wrote, “Yeh hai Pari, meri Dream Girl (This is Pari, my dream girl)! Dream Girl 2 trailer is out tomorrow!"
The poster features Ayushmann in the persona of his character Pooja. Viewers only see his face as he steps out from behind a clear curtain, while Ananya was seen looking at Ayushmann's character.
In the poster, the makers introduced the character of Ananya Pari. The actor looked gorgeous in traditional attire. She left her hair open and completed her look with silver earrings and pink bracelets.
Soon after the makers unveiled the new poster, fans flooded the comments section with red hearts and fire emojis. Aspiring actor and Ananya's bestie Shanaya Kapoor commented, “I love it. Another user commented: “Finally!! I can't wait to see you Pooja."
The makers will unveil the teaser of the film on Monday while the official trailer will be out on Tuesday. Apart from Ayushmann and Ananya, the film also stars Anna Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Asrani, Manjot Singh and Vijay Raaz among others. Dream Girl 2 is the sequel to the highly successful movie Dream Girl which was released in 2019. The first part was a big hit at the box office.
Dream Girl 2 will be released on August 25. It was previously supposed to be released in July. The delay is due to the extensive VFX work required by the film.
In her earlier statement about the decision, producer Ekta Kapoor said, “We want Ayushmann Khurrana's character to look perfect like Pooja in Dream Girl 2, so we are spending more time perfecting the VFX work for the face. We want to ensure that our viewers have the best possible experience while watching the film. The VFX work for Dream Girl 2 is an integral part of the film and we want to ensure that we deliver a high quality product to our viewers.”
