A man was stabbed multiple times with scissors inside a barber shop in southwest Delhi after he asked a person who was allegedly smoking inside the salon to put out a cigarette, police said on Monday.
The accused has been identified as Mohit Mahlawat (22), who entered the shop in the state capital's Kishangarh village in a drunken state and is said to be the landlord's son. Abhay Kumar, who was present at the salon at the time for a haircut, asked the 22-year-old man to smoke outside the shop, leading to an argument between them.
The situation turned violent when an enraged Mahlawat stabbed Kumara several times with scissors kept in the shop. Kumar suffered multiple wounds all over his body, including four in the chest, the official said.
According to the official, the victim was taken to the hospital and is now in stable condition. A case under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at the Kishangarh police station on Kumar's complaint.
The police have arrested the accused and investigation is on.
