A drunk man beats up a cop in Kolkata's Shobhabazar. Policeman Debashish Mondal was patrolling in the area under the Burtolla police station jurisdiction on the day of Muharram to avoid any untoward incident.
The accused has been arrested on charges of assaulting an on-duty cop. According to reports, during patrolling on Wednesday morning, Mondal saw the intoxicated person involved in a quarrel.
When he went to control the situation, the drunk person attacked Mondal and injured him. Mondal has suffered a head injury and was sent to hospital for first aid.
