Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
At least 12 people were killed and several others injured when a speeding dumper truck crashed into multiple vehicles in Jaipur’s Harmada area on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred near Loha Mandi, where the truck caused a chain collision stretching nearly 300 metres.
According to Jaipur district collector Jitendra Soni, the dumper, which was empty, rammed into vehicles one after another while coming from Road No. 14 towards the Loha Mandi petrol pump. Twelve people lost their lives on the spot, and around a dozen others sustained injuries, some of them in critical condition.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene, diverting traffic and clearing damaged vehicles from the busy stretch. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals, with critical patients referred to the trauma centre at SMS Hospital in Jaipur.
This marks the second major road tragedy in Rajasthan within two days. On Sunday evening, a tempo traveller collided with a stationary trailer truck in Phalodi, killing 15 people, including 10 women and four children.
