In a surprising turn of events, a large crocodile unexpectedly appeared near a residence in a densely populated area along the Bhagirathi riverbanks in Palpada, situated adjacent to Ward No. 10 of Kalna city in East Burdwan district. This incident, which occurred around 1 o'clock last night, has left the local community in a state of panic. Residents spent the entire night guarding themselves against the presence of the crocodile. Fortunately, on Tuesday, authorities were able to successfully rescue the crocodile.
It is worth noting that between 1 and 1.30 pm yesterday, local residents spotted a fully grown crocodile near the Bhagirathi riverbanks.
Subsequently, the crocodile gradually ventured into the densely populated area, causing widespread alarm among the locals. Promptly informed about the situation, the Kalna Police Station, Kalna Fire Brigade, and the Forest Department collaborated to rescue the crocodile, which was successfully accomplished by the Forest Department.
