No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
Eastern Railway has launched the second phase of its sanitation campaign titled “Guarantee of Cleaning within 30 Minutes of Reporting” with the objective of improving cleanliness arrangements across railway stations and strengthening passenger participation in sanitation management. The campaign was formally inaugurated by the General Manager of Eastern Railway and will remain in operation from May 16 to May 30, 2026.
According to railway authorities, the campaign aims to ensure that sanitation-related complaints within station premises are addressed within 30 minutes of being reported. The initiative has been introduced to improve cleanliness standards, strengthen accountability in service delivery, and ensure quicker response mechanisms regarding passenger complaints related to sanitation and hygiene at railway stations.
Eastern Railway stated that the campaign focuses on providing clean, safe, and improved passenger amenities across its network. The initiative also seeks to involve passengers and other stakeholders in maintaining cleanliness standards within station areas. Monitoring of complaint resolution and sanitation response systems will be carried out during the campaign period as part of the railway’s broader passenger service improvement programme.
