After Abhishek Banerjee's recent return to the city, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has noticeably escalated its investigative activities, leading to growing speculation and political tensions. The Trinamool Congress has swiftly responded to these actions, citing them as politically motivated.
The ED's intensified actions come on the heels of a press release that mentioned Abhishek Banerjee's connection to 'Leaps and Bounds,' a company associated with 'Kalighater Kaku' Sujaykrishna Bhadra. According to the press release, Abhishek Banerjee held the position of Chief Executive Officer at the company from 2012 to 2014.
Trinamool Congress has moved swiftly to counter these allegations. They contend that the ED's actions are an attempt to tarnish the reputation of Abhishek Banerjee and the party. The party has labeled the charges as baseless and fueled by political pressure.
Trinamool Congress leader, shared an image on social media allegedly depicting Subhendu Adhikari receiving money wrapped in paper, alluding to the Narad case. Alongside the image, Banerjee wrote, "I hope this picture is enough to awaken someone's conscience. May I know, when will you walk to the office of ED?"
