The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its investigation into a land scam in Jharkhand by conducting a raid at the residence of Dhanbad DTO CP Diwakar Dwivedi. On Tuesday morning, the ED team arrived at the Dev Bihar Apartment in Dhanbad’s Sadar police station area, signaling a significant step in the ongoing probe.
The raid not only targeted Dwivedi but also implicated several other officials, including Kanke CO Jay Kumar Ram and CO Prabhat Bhushan, as well as businessman Sanjeev Pandey. Allegations have emerged that these individuals are involved in a scheme demanding approximately 6 crore rupees to manipulate the ED's investigation into a broader land scam in Ranchi. The investigation has revealed that Ram and others allegedly conspired to negotiate a deal involving 5.71 crore rupees.
Sanjeev Pandey has filed an FIR against lawyer Sujit Kumar, accusing him of taking his SUV during the incident. The FIR details transactions linked to the alleged scheme, including cash transfers and an iPhone given to the lawyer. As part of the investigation, the ED’s charge sheet has identified these individuals, highlighting the collaborative effort to evade scrutiny. The recovery of substantial cash amounts from Dwivedi's home raises further questions about financial irregularities within the local governance framework in Jharkhand.
