ED files complaint with Basirhat SP over assault during Sheikh Shahjahan's house search

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has lodged a written complaint with the Basirhat Superintendent of Police concerning an alleged assault on ED officials during the search of Sheikh Shahjahan's residence in Sandeshkhali.

The complaint urges the registration of a case under section 307. In the filed charge sheet, the ED aWsserted that upon reaching Sheikh Shahjahan's house, attempts to contact him were made through his mobile phone, which remained consistently busy.

Subsequently, ED officials successfully reached Sheikh Shahjahan on an alternate mobile phone and informed him about the impending raid. Following this communication, the mobile phone on Sheikh Shahjahan's end was abruptly disconnected. The ED officials speculate that Shahjahan might have mobilized individuals by orchestrating calls.
