No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its operations in West Bengal as the state moves through its election cycle, summoning senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader and Rash Behari MLA Debashis Kumar.
Kumar, who is also the party's candidate for the upcoming assembly elections, appeared at the federal agency's office in Salt Lake on Monday. He is reportedly being questioned in connection with a fraudulent land-grabbing case that has recently gained legal traction.
Investigation officials have been questioning the TMC leader for over an hour regarding his alleged involvement or knowledge of the property irregularities. While Kumar has yet to release an official statement regarding the specifics of the interrogation, his appearance at the CGO Complex has already triggered a fresh wave of political volatility.
