In a significant operation, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids on properties associated with former Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) MLA Dilbag Singh and others in Haryana. The raid, part of an investigation into an alleged illegal mining case, took place at over 20 locations connected to Haryana Congress MLA Surendra Panwar and Dilbag Singh. Sources from the ED reported the recovery of illegal foreign weapons, 300 cartridges, more than 100 liquor bottles, Rs 5 crore in cash, and approximately 4/5 kg of gold biscuits from the premises.
Dilbag Singh, a close associate of INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala, has familial ties to Chautala through the marriage of his daughter to Chautala's son Arjun Chautala four years ago.Under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the ED teams targeted residences in Sonipat and Yamunanagar, including the Sector-15 residence of Congress MLA Surendra Panwar, his associate Suresh's house, BJP leader Manoj Wadhwa's residence, office, and farm house.
The raid, ongoing for the last 24 hours at Surendra Panwar's residence, is related to the illegal mining and e-mail scam case. ED officials are collecting information and evidence, including documents related to mining business, bank accounts, and land ownership, as part of the investigation.
