ED raids several locations across Kolkata in human trafficking case

Today, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) kickstarts massive raids related to human trafficking network that's lurked in the shadows for years. Targeting atleast five to six locations across Kolkata, the raids zeroed in on the houses of three businessmen in Salt Lake and a civil engineer's residence in Nagerbazar. This isn't a fresh scandal; it's a revival of an old case where the FIR in this case was filed due to an incident in Baguiati a few years ago.

As per reports, ED sleuths are now raiding that could expose illicit cash flowing through these case. The Nagerbazar civil engineer and Saltlake businessman have been under the scanner of the ED for a long time and they are trying to collect relevant documents through today's raid. Bank staements is also in the radar to find out about illegal transactions. Apart from this, the central investigation agency may question these suspects.

Extending the operations, a parallel ED team is investigating in Siliguri as per reports, underscoring the web's regional sprawl. Raids underway, the ED's move in cracking down of human misery. This probe, handed over from local cops after an initial FIR, marks the agency's first on-ground raid. If the evidence stacks up—and early signs point to a multi-year racket—the fallout could topple empires built on broken promises, bringing long-overdue reckoning to those who profited from the pain.
