The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken significant action in the ration corruption case by seizing properties belonging to several individuals, including Jyotipriya Mallick. Mallick's houses in Salt Lake and Bolpur have been confiscated, alongside two hotels owned by Bakibur Rahman, located in Kolkata and Bengaluru. The total value of the seized assets amounts to approximately Rs 50 crore, with Rs 10 crore attributed to Biswajit Das and the remaining Rs 40 crore to Mallik, Shankar Adhya, and Bakibur Rahman. However, the specifics of these assets and their exact worth remain undisclosed.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Jyotipriya Mallick, also known as Balu Mallick, possesses a luxurious house named 'Dotara' in Shantiniketan, apart from his properties in Salt Lake and Bolpur. Mallik, who resided as a minister in the Salt Lake residence until his arrest, faces scrutiny as the investigation progresses. The ED's actions shed light on the confiscation of properties belonging to influential figures involved in the corruption scandal.
