Abhishek Banerjee, the All India General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress, has been summoned once again by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). He is expected to appear for questioning on October 3. This summons follows a previous one issued by the ED on September 14, coinciding with the day of an important coordination committee meeting of the INDIA Alliance. The timing of these summons has raised questions about whether Abhishek Banerjee will attend the ED's questioning on October 3.
The Trinamool Congress has asserted that the ED's choice of dates for the summons, especially on days when the party has important programs or meetings, shows an "Abhishek-phobia" within the BJP. Abhishek Banerjee also responded to the latest summons via a tweet, highlighting that he had dutifully obeyed the previous summons issued earlier this month. He pointed out the timing of the new summon, coinciding with a protest in Delhi on October 3 for the dues of West Bengal, implying that it reflects the apprehensions of those who are genuinely disturbed and intimidated.
It's noteworthy that on September 14, Taaza TV had expressed concerns that the Central Agency might summon Abhishek Banerjee for questioning on the day of his planned protest in Delhi, which has now become a reality with the October 3 summon.
