Fresh trouble for Abhishek, CID visits his residence in DJ comment case
A large quantity of government and relief materials, including tarpaulins, cement bags, buckets and bleaching powder, was recovered from Ward No. 23 of the Rajpur-Sonarpur Municipality, triggering tension in the area. The materials were allegedly being moved from the residence and office of councillor Chanda Ghoshal and her husband, former councillor Soumen Mohan Ghoshal, when local residents gathered at the spot and began protesting.
According to local allegations, residents raised slogans and threw eggs during the protest after discovering the materials. The BJP and local residents alleged that the relief supplies had been stockpiled instead of being distributed among beneficiaries. They further claimed that development work in the ward had come to a standstill and that contractors were allegedly forced to pay commissions. Following the incident, police seized the recovered materials and launched an investigation into the allegations. Councillor Chanda Ghoshal declined to comment on the matter.
