A somber incident unfolded in Jalpaiguri as the lifeless bodies of an elderly couple were discovered hanging at their residence on Tuesday. The deceased have been identified as Becharam Das (71), a farmer, and Radharani Das (63).
The couple, survived by three married daughters, was found dead inside their locked house. The circumstances surrounding their demise remain unclear, prompting local panchayat member Jagdish Burman to call for a thorough investigation to determine whether it was a case of suicide or murder. The Jalpaiguri Kotwali police station has registered the case as unnatural death and initiated a comprehensive inquiry.
