The Election Commission, in its ongoing assessments for the general election preparedness, is visiting multiple states, sources revealed on Friday. Once the assessment tour concludes, the dates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls will be announced, as per Election Commission sources.
Currently, officials of the central poll body are conducting visits in Tamil Nadu, followed by Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. According to recent reports, the Election Commission's visit to West Bengal is scheduled between March 3 and 5. The state visits are scheduled to be completed before March 13, post which the central poll body might declare LS poll dates.
