Elon Musk praises PM Modi's vision and say "I'm a big fan of Modi"

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's three-day state visit to the United States, Elon Musk, the renowned entrepreneur and CEO of Tesla, had a highly anticipated meeting with PM Modi in New York. 

Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday said he's a fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who “really wants to do the right thing for India." Speaking to reporters after meeting Modi, Musk said the Indian prime minister really cares about India as he's pushing Tesla to make significant investments in the country.

The discussion focused on India's potential and the scope for future collaborations.

Elon Musk's optimism for India's future soared as he expressed, "India's future holds incredible promise, with more potential than any large country in the world. He acknowledged PM Modi's dedication, noting that the Prime Minister's vision is driving a push for investments. Musk emphasized the need to determine the right timing. The meeting between Musk and PM Modi was described as fantastic, strengthening their bonds and paving the way for potential collaborations, given their previous acquaintance.​​​​​​

During the meeting, Musk praised PM Modi's commitment to India's growth, stating, "He really wants to do the right thing for India. He wants to be open, he wants to be supportive to the companies. And obviously, at the same time, make sure that it accrues to India's advantage." Musk's admiration for PM Modi was evident as he concluded, "I am a fan of Modi."

Moreover, Musk expressed his interest in India's potential for solar energy investments, highlighting, "India is great for solar energy investment... We are also hoping to bring Starlink internet to India." This indicates Tesla's intention to explore renewable energy opportunities and expand internet services in the country.

Anticipating future collaborations, Musk shared, "I am tentatively planning to visit India again, next year," underscoring his eagerness to further strengthen ties with India. He also reaffirmed Tesla's commitment, saying, "I am confident Tesla will be in India and will do so as soon as humanly possible."
