"Kolkata to get Water Metro connectivity," says Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari
Entrepreneur and author Alkesh Agarwal on January 15 launched his debut book Live Evil at a well-attended event in Kolkata, drawing over 225 entrepreneurs, business leaders and professionals from across the city. The launch marked a significant moment for Kolkata’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The event saw the presence of prominent industry leaders including Parthiv Neotia, Joint Managing Director of the Ambuja Neotia Group; Vivek Bajaj, Founder of StockEdge; Kamal Agarwala of TiE Global and La Exactlly Softwares; and Bijay Agarwal of Doctor’s Choice, along with founders, mentors and well-wishers.
A key highlight of the evening was a fireside conversation moderated by Siddhartha Ahluwalia, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of The Neon Fund. The discussion focused on leadership under pressure, navigating uncertainty, the cost of delayed decisions and the importance of clarity and action in building long-term businesses.
Speaking at the launch, Parthiv Neotia said Live Evil reflects the grounded entrepreneurial thinking he has seen Alkesh apply consistently over the years. Vivek Bajaj noted that the book speaks candidly about the darker, often unspoken challenges of entrepreneurship, drawing from Alkesh’s lived experiences across highs and lows.
The book chronicles over three decades of Alkesh Agarwal’s journey of building, breaking and rebuilding businesses, offering honest reflections on resilience and uncomfortable truths founders face. The evening concluded with a book-signing session, and Live Evil is now available on Amazon India.
