Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda has demanded a high-level investigation into the alleged fake encounter killing of former BJP leader Surya Hansda in Godda district. Munda said Hansda was arrested from his residence while he was unwell, and despite pleas from his wife, he was killed in an encounter. He announced plans to visit Hansda’s family in Godda on August 17.
Munda stated that Hansda had been actively opposing displacement in the region and was involved in campaigns against illegal mining and trade of coal, sand, and stone chips. He said these activities were continuing in the area and Hansda had consistently raised his voice against them.
According to Munda, Hansda’s opposition to such activities had led to multiple criminal cases being registered against him over time. He alleged that the recent incident was connected to these disputes and required a transparent investigation to establish the facts.
Munda called for an impartial and high-level inquiry to determine the circumstances leading to Hansda’s death. He said his visit to the family would help him gather details directly from the ground before pursuing further action on the matter.
