'Jo Ram Ko Laye Hain' singer Kanhaiya Mittal to join Congress
In a significant political shift in Jharkhand, former Chief Ministers Champai Soren and Madhu Koda, along with expelled JMM leader Lobin Hembrom, have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Champai Soren, who resigned from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Wednesday, joined the BJP on Friday, expressing dissatisfaction with the party’s current functioning and citing "bitter humiliation" as reasons for his departure.
The 67-year-old leader, previously close to JMM chief Shibu Soren, was visibly emotional during his induction into the BJP.
On Saturday, Lobin Hembrom, who was expelled from the JMM earlier this year, also joined the BJP. Speaking after his induction, Hembrom said, "We worked with loyalty in JMM, we are still devotees of Guruji (Shibu Soren). He taught us to oppose the wrong... we tried to take JMM to reach one goal. We had believed in Hemant that the tribals would get justice and development, today the bow and arrow have no power."
