"Kolkata to get Water Metro connectivity," says Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari
Explosions rocked Venezuela’s capital Caracas in the early hours of Saturday, triggering heightened tensions between Caracas and Washington. The Venezuelan government blamed the United States for what it described as coordinated attacks across multiple locations.
President Nicolás Maduro declared a state of emergency, accusing the US of military aggression and calling for the activation of nationwide mobilisation plans. The government said blasts were reported not only in Caracas but also in the states of Miranda, Aragua and La Guaira.
Residents reported loud explosions accompanied by sounds resembling low-flying aircraft around 2 am local time. Unverified videos circulating online appeared to show large blasts near key infrastructure, including an airport east of the capital.
While official confirmation from Washington was awaited, reports claimed President Donald Trump had ordered strikes on sites inside Venezuela, including military facilities. The situation remains fluid as regional and global attention focuses on the rapidly escalating crisis.
